Man in Custody in Connection With Mom, Son Murder: Police

Police are questioning a person of interest

Investigators have a man in custody in connection with a double murder inside a Frankford home.

A 56-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were found dead inside a home along 4600 block of Leiper Street just after 1 a.m. Sunday, Philadelphia Police say. Both victims were shot multiple times.

Family members tell NBC Philadelphia the victims are Dorothy "Miss D" Flora and her son Shane Ferguson. Ferguson leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter.

The woman's cousin discovered the bodies after breaking into the Leiper Street home during the early morning hours Sunday, sources say. The unidentified man apparently was worried after not hearing from his cousin.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument, but would not elaborate as to what caused the fight.

Neighbor Daniel Neal says he heard the argument and saw someone drive away.

"There was some arguing and it got pretty heated so I walked up front to see what was going on," he said. "By the time I walked up to the front, the arguing had stopped."

Investigators are questioning the man. No arrests have been made.
