Police are investigating the death of a baby in Delaware County.
On Sunday at 8:24 a.m., police along with EMS were dispatched to a home on Lincoln Avenue in Collingdale for a baby in respiratory distress. Investigators say medics performed CPR on the 11-month-old boy who was then taken to the Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby. The child was pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m.
Police say the child’s mother, Christine Rivero, was detained for possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives interviewed her about the circumstances surrounding her son’s death. No charges have been filed yet as police continue to investigate.
