More Charges Filed in Penn State Rioting

Eleven more Penn State students have been charged after last month's riots to protest Joe Paterno's firing.

Eleven more students have been charged in connection with last month's riot following the firing of legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno amid a child sex abuse scandal centering on one of his longtime assistants.

The Centre Daily Times reports seven of those arrested Monday and Tuesday are accused of tipping over a TV news van during the Nov. 9 riot. Those seven face felony riot charges and four 20-year-old women were charged with criminal mischief.

Thousands of students took to the streets of State College after Penn State's Board of Trustees ousted Paterno and university President Graham Spanier a few days after former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was charged with sexually abusing young boys.

More than three dozen people have been charged in connection with the riot.
