Montgomery County's Newest Millionaire Emerges

There's a new millionaire in Montgomery County after a woman finally came forward to claim her Powerball jackpot.

Palmira Nicolo of Wyndmoor, Pa. claimed her share of the Feb. 28 jackpot worth a cool $46 million Thursday.

She was one of two winners with all the numbers (3-16-20-42-58) and the red Powerball (7) correct. The other winning ticket was purchased in Delaware.

She could have made more than $87 million -- half of the $174 million purse -- if she chose to receive annual payments instead of the roughly $46 million lump sum, according to Market Watch.

Nicolo purchased the winning ticket at the Plymouth Meeting Mall’s Customer Service Center.

She refused to participate in a check presentation or public event recognizing her win and asked the Lottery to decline any media interviews, according to Market Watch.

Nicolo is the 13th Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball jackpot winner since the state joined the multi-state game in June 2002.

No word on what she plans to do with her new-found fortune.
