Mom Turns Tricks in Motel, Son Watched: Police

A 36-year-old woman was locked up for selling sex in a motel room where she lived with her 7-year-old son, according to Bensalem police.

An undercover cop busted Catherine Thomas and found her little boy huddled in a dirty bathroom with three dogs.

The boy told detectives he had an in-service day and was off from school, so he was in the motel room he shared with his mother as she performed various sex acts with men for money, police said.

Each time Thomas performed sex acts, she would have her son wait in the bathtub until she and her client were finished, according to officials.

Police got a tip from Thomas’ sister that led them to Mall Motel in Trevose, Pa. near the Neshaminy Mall.  Police observed the operation, then were able to stop a "John" who was leaving her room.  Officials then had him call Thomas to say he was sending over a friend. The "friend" was really an undercover cop.

The condition of the room and bathroom was filthy with trash and garbage everywhere and a strong odor of urine, according to police.

Thomas is locked up on $20,000 bail, charged with prostitution, possession of drugs and paraphernalia and endangering a child.

Her son is with Bucks County Family Services.  The three dogs were taken to the Women's Humane Services.
