Missing Pennsylvania Man Found Dead on Appalachian Trail

A missing Pennsylvania man was found dead on the Appalachian Trail, state police announced.

James Cramer, 56, of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, was reported missing last week. His wife told investigators he left their home in Jackson Township between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday night. His vehicle was later found in a parking lot near the Appalachian Trail on Route 645 in Schuylkill County, according to state police.

On Sunday, around 11 a.m., Cramer was found dead on the Appalachian Trail grounds in the area of Bethel Township, Berks County. Investigators said Cramer’s body was discovered by a search party who then notified Pennsylvania State Police.

Police have not yet revealed a cause of death. They continue to investigate.
