Moisture, Cold Blast Could Lead to Icy Spots

Slow down if you're on the road Tuesday morning. Another cold blast and left over moisture could cause some areas to re-freeze.

A mix of sleet and freezing rain hit South Jersey, Delaware and some areas north and west of Philadelphia Monday morning. The wintry mix turned to rain later on during the day. A mix of rain and snow returned to parts of the area Monday night but there was little accumulation.

While most of the main roads were already treated in anticipation of the ice, secondary roads that weren't treated had several icy spots.

Temperatures dropped to 29 degrees in Philadelphia Monday night and should hold for the rest of the night. However, they will drop again Tuesday morning leading to the possibility of more icy spots on roads. Monday's rain also washed away salt that was placed on roads which could lead to more freezing and slippery spots Tuesday.

Temperatures will rise into the low 30's with wind chills in the teens for much of the area. On Wednesday we're in for another chance of rain and snow.

We'll finally be in for a bit of relief Thursday through the weekend with temperatures ranging in the high 30s to mid 40s and dry conditions.
