Medical Marijuana Approval for 2nd NJ Facility

A second medical marijuana dispensary has permission to start selling pot to patients in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Health Department announced Friday that Compassionate Care Foundation in Egg Harbor Township can open.

The facility has been allowed to grow cannabis since June.

The dispensary has not announced exactly what day it will open.

The state selected six nonprofit groups to grow and sell medical marijuana, but so far only one has opened its facility.

One group, Compassionate Care Center of America, has begun growing marijuana and expects to open in Woodbridge later this year.

Nearly 1,400 medical marijuana patients have registered with the state.
