McQueary Plans to Sue Penn State

Former Penn State wide receivers coach Mike McQueary is planning to file a notice of intent to sue the school, according to a newly released 4-page document.

Former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary filed a notice of intent to sue the school, according to centredaily.com. McQueary’s attorney, Elliot Strokoff, filed a writ of summons for a civil case in court on Tuesday which notifies Penn State that his client intends to sue them.

The four-page document calls the suit a whistle-blower case where McQueary is seeking money damages outside normal arbitration limits. The document also states that it will not be a class action suit. Aside from that, however, the document doesn't describe the specific details of the lawsuit.

McQueary is a key witness in the Penn State child sex abuse scandal. McQueary testified that he witnessed Jerry Sandusky “having some type of sexual intercourse” with a 10-year-old boy in a Penn State locker room shower. The attorney general's office said in a court filing that investigators have concluded the alleged attack took place around Feb. 9, 2001 rather than March 1, 2002, which was reported by previously filed court documents. McQueary is currently on administrative leave.
