80th wedding anniversary!
A Philadelphia couple just celebrated 80 years together.
And they invited "Your News" to the celebration of their love.
Keith first let us know about their wedding, which took place in 1930.
He wrote:
"After the wedding, there was no reception. There was no honeymoon. "
As [the groom] put it years later, "in those days, [black] folks weren't allowed to stay at many places."
80 years later -- times have changed.
But their love hasn't.
The Atkins' children say they had family prayer every morning at 4 o'clock and dinner every evening at 6.
As adults, when they return home, their dad greets them with a hug and his favorite line – "Home at last."
