Marc Summers Injured in Philly Cab Accident

The former "Double Dare" host has several broken bones in his face

Television host Marc Summers is recovering from some serious facial injuries after a cab accident in Philadelphia.

He tells NBC10 he was riding in a cab on August 10 on his way back from the airport when the cab began to hydroplane, sending him flying into the plastic window in the middle of the cab.

Summers currently hosts "Unwrapped" on the Food Network where he takes people behind-the-scenes to find out more about some classic American foods.

He is also well-known as the former host of "Double Dare" on Nickelodeon.

Summers tells NBC10 the news of his accident first came out when his close friend Ryan Seacrest tweeted well-wishes to him. "@RyanSeacrest: Just heard from my friend Marc Summers he was in a serious accident- cab he was in hydroplaned. Docs say he'll be ok. Wish him well."

Summers was part of the NBC10 family for a week, when he co-hosted the 10!Show with Luann Cahn in December 2010.

He was also a guest judge for the 10!Show's Local TV Chef Contest this past May.
