Man Threatens to Kill MVC Workers: Cops

Man reportedly made "terrorist threats" in early June

A South Jersey man is accused of calling in a threat to shoot up a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission office back in June.

Egg Harbor Township Police arrested Guy Costabile, 45, after a lengthy investigation.

Costabile is accused of calling 9-1-1 from a prepaid cellphone and telling an Egg Harbor Township Police Dispatcher that he had a gun at the Shore Mall and was going to walk into the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission office and shoot all of the tellers, according to police.

The nearby MVC immediately evacuated and locked down for the rest of the day, police said.

Police say they arrested Costabile Wednesday and charged him with causing a false public alarm, terrorist threats and “misuse of the 9-1-1 emergency telephone system.”

He was sent to county jail unable to post $15,000 bail, police said.
