Philadelphia police say a man was killed in a broad daylight, execution-type shooting on a street with children nearby.
Dyshon Garner shot about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 5100 block of Pennway Street in the Crescentville neighborhood.
They say the 25-year-old man had just bought a water ice when another man came up and fired seven shots at close range, four of which hit the victim in the shoulders and back.
Police found Garner on the 700 block of Jericho Street.
Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says a motive isn't known but "this clearly appears to be an execution-type homicide."
The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m.
Police say the shooter left in a gray or burgundy van.
