Man Wanted for Beating, Robbing 2 Women

Police: Man beat women after argument, stole cash and car

Police in Brigantine, N.J. are looking for a man who allegedly beat and robbed two women, one of whom was his girlfriend.

The alleged victims claimed that they arrived home from work early Friday morning and found 35-year-old Shawn Braxton of Atlantic City at their home. Braxton and his girlfriend went upstairs, where an argument ensued.

The other woman went upstairs for an unrelated reason and saw Braxton assaulting his girlfriend. Braxton then allegedly grabbed the second woman, threw her onto the bed and began assaulting both women with his fists, a baseball bat, and a belt. The women claim Braxton told them that they weren't going to make it out alive, and that he was going to kill them.

When the assault was complete, Braxton allegedly told the victims to go to sleep before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash and one of the victim's SUVs. The car is described as a black 2003 GMC Envoy with New Jersey license number V47-ABU.

Warrants are out for Braxton on charges of aggravated assault, criminal restraint, robbery, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a firearm, and theft of a motor vehicle. Braxton is considered armed and dangerous.
