A western Pennsylvania man will spend a year on probation for stealing the district attorney's wallet from a county-owned car, which was parked in the prosecutor's driveway.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 19-year-old Jonathan Alle-Brown, of Penn Hills, was sentenced by a Westmoreland County judge on Monday after pleading guilty to forgery and access device fraud.
Those charges stemmed from the fact that Alle-Brown used District Attorney John Peck's credit card to buy cigarettes and a meal at Denny's after taking the wallet July 2 from the unlocked car parked at Peck's New Kensington home.
Peck says it was a different, but not entirely foreign, experience to be a crime victim saying, "It was a minor inconvenience. I was a little familiar with the process."
Peck says he doesn't leave his wallet in the car any longer.
