Man Survives Close Range Shooting in SW Philly

A suspect unloaded round after round at man in a car, only hitting him once.

A shooting victim is lucky to be alive after someone unloaded round after round at him, hitting him just once.

It happened along the 7200 block of Mallard Place in the Elmwood section of Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the victim was sitting in the back seat of a car when the suspect approached and fired at least nine rounds at him.

The victim was hit just once in the lower body. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Police have not yet released the victim’s name. No arrests have been made, but an investigation is ongoing.
