The search continued Tuesday for the driver who investigators in South Jersey say struck and killed a man before fleeing the scene.

Investigators say Lawrence Stark was walking south on Pershing Street between Morton and Chase Streets in Camden on Monday afternoon around 3:30 when a vehicle ran into him.

Medics rushed Stark to Cooper University Hospital where he later died from his injuries. He was 58.

Investigators describe the hit-and-run vehicle as a black or dark-blue SUV with damage to the passenger side middle and with packing tape on the driver's side mirror. They said the driver appeared to be a man in his 20s or 30s with a high, tight haircut and goatee.
