Man Steals Drugs, Leaves Behind Identification

Police found the man's backpack, still in the store, with his birth certificate inside.

Police say a man who made off with nearly 800 narcotic prescription pills from an eastern Pennsylvania pharmacy was caught because he left his birth certificate near the scene of the crime.

Authorities say a man entered the CVS Pharmacy in East Stroudsburg on Thanksgiving Day, handed the pharmacist a bag and a threatening note demanding all of the Oxycodone, Oxycontin and Xanax pills available.

Police said surveillance video showed the suspect in the store during an earlier visit that day with an orange and black backpack. Investigators found the backpack on a nearby street and they said inside was the birth certificate of 23-year-old Keith Rebori of Brodheadsville.

Rebori was arrested and charged with robbery, theft and related counts.

His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 13.
