Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in a Woodbine, N.J., church Wednesday.

The stabbing happened in front of a Spanish speaking Pentecostal church on Franklin Street at 8 a.m. The victim was stabbed in the back by unknown suspect.

Shortly after the stabbing, the injured  person walked screaming down Franklin Street to get help, according to the office manager of the Puerto Rican Action Committee, Jesusa Ramos.

Ramos told The Cape County Herald that the victim, identified as Juan Rivera Perez, collapsed outside the doors of the Puerto Rican Action Committee where she  tried to stop Perez’s bleeding from the stab wound in the back.
