A man is recovering after he was shot in the chest while sitting on a stoop outside in the Parkside section of the city.
Police say the 33-year-old man was sitting outside of a home on the 1400 block of North 53rd Street on Saturday around 12:30 a.m. when two suspects approached him.
At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun and opened fire, according to investigators. The man was struck once in the chest and the suspects fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is in stable condition.
Police continue to search for the two suspects but have not yet released a description of them.
