Man Shot, Killed at North Philly ATM

Police are looking for the man who shot and killed another at a North Philadelphia ATM a little after midnight on Wednesday.

The shooting happened on N 9th and Diamond Streets.

Kevin Garner, 54, stopped to use the ATM around the corner from his N 8th Street home when another man allegedly pulled up in a car, got out and pulled a gun on the victim, according to police.

Garner was taking out $200, according to his sister-in-law.

Police believe the suspect demanded money. They say there was a struggle between the two that resulted in the shooting of the victim.

Garner was shot in the neck, chest and back, officials say.

He was rushed to Temple Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 12:30 a.m.

Neighbors claimed they heard gunshots and a car screeching away from the scene.

"He never did any thing, he certainly did not deserve to die the way he did. It's messed up all the way around," one neighbor tells NBC Philadelphia.

Garner leaves behind a wife and daughter.

The entire incident was caught on a local business’ surveillance video. Police were reviewing the video.

Authorities say the suspect is a well-dressed man about 5-feet 10-inches.
