Man Shoots Wife, Hides Gun in Pool Table: Police

A southwestern Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges that he fatally shot his wife, then tried to hide the gun in the pocket of a pool table.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 50-year-old Scott Edmonds, who was arraigned early Wednesday on charges of criminal homicide and tampering with evidence.

Police in North Strabane Township responded to the couple's home about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh after neighbors reported hearing gunshots about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say they found Edmonds in the kitchen cradling his wife, who was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says 49-year-old Louise Weis-Edmonds died from the wound.

Her husband faces a preliminary hearing April 9.
