Man Sentenced for Illegal Weapons Sales

A southern New Jersey man who sold several weapons to a confidential informant has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison.

Ashley Love of Lindenwold will also have to serve three years of supervised release once he's freed from prison. The sentence was handed down Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Camden.

Love had pleaded guilty to a complaint charging him with one count of possessing firearms and ammunition while being a previously convicted felon.

Prosecutors say that during a two-month period in later 2011, Love sold the confidential informant five firearms -- three assault rifles, a stolen 9mm Ruger handgun and a shotgun -- and compatible ammunition for the rifles and the handgun.
