Man Sentenced to Prison for Robbing His Grandmother During Bank Trip

A Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to robbing his grandmother in a pharmacy parking lot has been sentenced to one to three years in state prison.

The Daily American reports that 32-year-old Shawn Leskovich apologized Tuesday as he was sentenced in Somerset County Court.

State police said Leskovich's 83-year-old grandmother was driving him to a Boswell bank Dec. 5 when he became upset, demanded money, broke the car's rearview mirror and smashed the windshield and then stole $363 from the victim and pushed her to the ground.

Charges of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief were withdrawn as part of Leskovich's plea in April.

After sentencing, Leskovich told the judge through his public defender that he wanted to be taken to prison "as soon as possible."
