Alleged Robber Rushes Teller in Frankford Bank

Cops say the man was caught a few blocks away with the money

A man allegedly rushed a bank teller in a brazen bank robbery Saturday morning.

Donning a Phillies hat and shirt, Philadelphia Police say the unidentified man allegedly grabbed cash from a worker at the PNC Bank along the 6800 block of Frankford Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Authorities say the man ran out of the bank towards Knorr Street, where cops caught up with him.

The man was taken into custody with the loot behind homes along the 4200 block of Knorr Street.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the robbery and chase. Police are investigating the incident.
