Man Robs CVS, Assaults Employee: Cops

Police say the robber struck an employee who tried to stop him from stealing several items from the store.

Police are on the hunt for a robber who they say targeted a local CVS.

On March 6, investigators say a man entered the CVS Pharmacy on 7520 City Avenue, placed several items into his coat and left the store without paying.

An employee witnessed the man leaving the store and tried to prevent the theft, according to police. The suspect allegedly struck the employee, causing severe lacerations. Police say he then fled on foot eastbound on Haverford Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8, weighing 150 pounds with pale skin and light facial hair.
