Man Accused of Randomly Attacking Woman

Police are searching for a man who allegedly punched a woman in the head, knocking her unconscious.

Police are on the hunt for a man accused of attacking a woman in Medford.

On Thursday, at 4:13 a.m., police responded to a home on South Main Street for a report of an assault. A 23-year-old woman told police that at 3 a.m., she was outside the backdoor of her home when an unknown man punched her on the side of her head, knocking her unconscious. The woman claims she woke up about an hour later, lying face down in the grass beside her home.

The suspect is described as a stocky Hispanic or light-skinned black male in his mid-thirties standing around 5-foot-3 with scruffy facial hair and a gold tooth in his upper mouth.

He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with a torn left knee and flip flops or sandals. The woman also told police he spoke with a possible Spanish accent.
