A 29-year-old South Jersey man faces weapons charges after police said he fired his AR-15, forcing the evacuation of nearby houses.
The Press of Atlantic City reported Matt Milby fired eight to 10 rounds from his Little Egg Harbor home Saturday night.
Lt. James Hawkins said police received a call for fireworks in the area at about 11 p.m., but soon found out that the sounds were gunshots. Residents were evacuated from three nearby homes.
Police said Milby walked out of the house after midnight Sunday and was arrested. Investigators worked to find out who owns the weapon.
No one was injured.
Milby was free on $50,000 bail. It was unclear if Milby had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
