Police say a man was killed after colliding with a freightliner on I-495 Saturday.
Investigators say 49-year-old Francisco Gomez was driving his pickup truck southbound on I-495 near Edgemoore Road around noon.
Police say Francisco hit the rear of a freightliner tractor trailer as he was attempting to move from the center lane to the right lane. The impact caused his pickup truck to become lodged under the rear of the trailer, according to police.
Francisco was pronounced at the scene. Investigators say he was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the trailer, 60-year-old Floyd Beverly, was not injured.
During the incident a tire from the bed of Francisco's truck hit a third car but no one was injured, according to investigators.
Parts of I-495 were closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
