Man Killed Woman Found in Burning Home: Pros.

Prosecutors say a Camden man stands accused of killing a woman whose body was found inside a burning city home earlier this year.

Charles Sheppard of Camden is charged with murder in the death 38-year-old Rhonda Scott of Camden.

Prosecutors allege that the 24-year-old Sheppard stabbed Scott multiple times in the back and stomach at a Tioga Street in February, killing her. Her remains were then burned there in a fire.

Sheppard's arrest came after Camden County Prosecutor's Office detectives learned he was the source of DNA evidence found at the scene.

Sheppard was being held in the Camden County Jail on an unrelated case when the murder charge was filed Tuesday. He's scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
