Delaware State Police say one man was killed and another injured when they were hit by a pickup truck while crossing a road in Newark.
It happened about 12:30 a.m. Friday on South College Avenue. Troopers say 19-year-old Ethan Connolly of Medway, Mass. and 18-year-old Daniel Bernstein of New York City were crossing the road; police say the two pedestrians were not crossing at a fully marked crosswalk and not carrying a flashlight.
Police say they were hit by a pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Linwood McLean of Bear.
Connolly was pronounced dead at the scene. Bernstein was taken to Christiana Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening.
The accident is under investigation.
