Man Killed in Tow Truck Altercation

A tow-truck driver was killed after another tow-truck driver allegedly struck him with his tow-truck after an argument in Kensington.

Siani's Towing driver Ray Santiago, 30, was struck at LeHigh Avenue and Frankford Avenue in Kensington at about 2:46 a.m. early Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 3:15 a.m.

Police tell NBCPhiladelphia Glen McDaniel, 25, who works for the Straight Up Towing, ran over Santiago several times after an argument. McDaniel faces several charges including homicide by vehicle.

Friends and family set up a memorial for Santiago with flowers and candles at the scene of the incident.

The deadly altercation comes two months after another tow truck war turned ugly. A tow-truck operator allegedly shot another in the leg while fighting over which company would tow the wreck in Hunting Park
