Man Injects Woman With Ammonia, Hair Dye: Cops

Delaware man is charged with attempted murder after bizarre syringe attack.

A Millsboro man has been charged with attempted murder after injecting a woman with a syringe full of ammonia and hair dye, police say.

James W. Patterson, 39, got into an argument with a woman in a wooded area near her home on Cedar Lane in Millsboro, Del.  at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, police told delawareonline.com.

Patterson struck the woman in the face and then pulled out a syringe and injected her neck and hand with the ammonia and dye concoction, police say.

The woman was taken to the hospital with swelling and bruising to her face, as well as complications from the injections.

Patterson was on probation after serving time for attacking the same woman, police say.

He is now charged with attempted murder and four other charges, reports delawareonline.com.

It is unknown why Patterson was carrying around a syringe full of ammonia and hair dye.

Patterson is being held in lieu of $132,000 cash bail.
