Teen Hit, Killed by Train in Haverford

18-year-old hit by inbound train on high-speed line

An 18-year-old Havertown teen was struck and killed by a train early Sunday morning.

Investigators say the teen was hit at approximately 2:30 a.m. by an inbound train between the Penfield and Overbrook stations along the SEPTA Route 100 high speed line. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported and the victim's name is not being released pending notification of his family.
