Suspicious Death in Montco Home

A mystery in Montgomery County after police found a man dead inside his own home.

Upper Merion Township Police responded to a home along the 100 block of Stewart Street in Upper Merion Tuesday night around 8.

When they arrived they found the body of an unidentified man in his 60s dead.

Neighbors tell NBC10 they spotted the victim walking near his home with his new girlfriend about two hours before he was found dead. According to neighbors, the victim began dating the woman only a few days ago.

The couple told those neighbors they were heading to the pharmacy. Neighbors say they haven't seen the girlfriend since then.

"I'm just shocked," said Ray Stingel, one of the neighbors. "To know that you see somebody and then two hours later, they're gone."

Investigators have not confirmed the details provided by the neighbors but say they consider the man's death suspicious.

A cause of death is pending an autopsy. If it is ruled a homicide it would be the first homicide in the township in nearly two years.
