A home health care worker found a man unresponsive in a building along the 1100 block of Green Street in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia on Wednesday morning, according to Philadelphia Police.
Emergency workers pronounced the 43-year-old man dead at 9:10 a.m.
Investigators on the scene say it looks like the man may have been beaten. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Police have not released the name of the victim.
Daniel Curcio, who says he was a friend of the victim, told NBC10's Aditi Roy the man was a parapalegic who lived by himself. Curcio says he was an advocate for the rights of the disabled.
