Man Emails Nude Photos of Ex, Sets Her Car on Fire: Police

A Bucks County man is in jail after police say he stalked his ex-girlfriend for two years, sending out nude photos of her and setting her car on fire in the process.

Investigators say the trouble began on Dec. 31, 2010 after Angelo Capria, 23, of Chalfont, got into an argument with his girlfriend. Police say Capria was upset because she was spending New Year’s Eve with a friend. Capria allegedly called her more than 100 times, leaving obscene and threatening messages in the process.

In February 2011, Capria allegedly took 16 nude photos of the woman during a Skype call. Investigators say the photos were taken without her knowledge.

As the relationship between the two continued to sour, investigators say Capria repeatedly threatened to either distribute the nude photos of the woman or kill himself and blame her for it if she ever tried to break up with him. Capria also allegedly left threatening messages on the woman’s Facebook Page, according to the Philly Burbs.

Officials say the woman finally broke up with Capria and cut all contact with him in the summer of 2011. In August 2011, Capria then allegedly sent a mass email containing the nude photos of the woman to over 400 people at her school.

The woman says she found out about the photos after receiving a Facebook message from another student that she didn’t even know. Her father then called police.

Investigators say Capria’s harassment didn’t end with the pictures. In the fall of 2011, Capria allegedly punctured the tires of the woman’s car. He also allegedly set her car, as well as two cars that belonged to her family, on fire.

Using home surveillance of the alleged arson as well as testimony from the woman and her father, police were able to track Capria down. In November 2012, police executed a search warrant of Capria’s apartment and car. They found a laptop showing the nude photos as well as a Google Earth Map displaying his ex-girlfriend’s address, according to investigators. They also say they found a GPS that contained coordinates to the woman’s college campus and family home.

Capria was arrested and arraigned on Thursday. He is charged with arson, reckless endangerment, stalking and other related offenses. He was sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
