NJ Man Drowns in Backyard Pool

Police say alcohol may have played a role in a 20-year-old man's death.

A 20-year-old man drowned early Saturday morning in a backyard pool at a Hopewell Township, N.J. home.

Police say a 21-year-old man had several friends, including Collin Abrams, over to his home on Creek Rim Drive on Friday night.

Abrams was seen swimming by himself in the in-ground pool early Saturday morning. A half an hour later, a friend discovered him at the bottom of the pool and pulled Abrams from the deep end, according to investigators.

Abrams was taken to Capital Health Systems Hopewell Campus and was pronounced dead at 4 a.m.

Investigators told NBC10 it's believed Abrams could swim and they're investigating whether alcohol played a role in the drowning.
