Man Dies Trying to Jump Off “Out of Service” Train in N Philly

Police say the man accidentally got on an "out of service" train that wasn't making stops and tried jumping off at the Broad and Glenwood Station.

A man is dead after trying to jump off an "out of service" train early Wednesday morning in North Philadelphia.

Police say the victim accidentally boarded an "out of service" train that wasn't making stops. When he realized his mistake, he wanted off the train, according to authorities.

It was then that he pryed the doors open and tried to jump out between two cars at the Broad and Glenwood Station. During the jump, the man hit a pole, causing severe head trauma, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:25 a.m.
