Man Crossing the Road Hit by 2 Cars, Killed

Police say a pedestrian trying to cross a western Pennsylvania road died after he was struck twice by vehicles.

State police in Beaver County say the accident was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Big Beaver.

They said the 46-year-old man was trying to cross Route 18 and walked into the path of a northbound sport utility vehicle, which swerved but was unable to avoid him.

Police said the impact left the man lying in the center of the road, where he was struck by a northbound car.

Police said both drivers stopped and no charges would be filed.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released pending notification of his relatives.
