Fleeing Man Crashes Car, Kills Brother

Police in central Pennsylvania say a driver fleeing the scene of a car accident crashed into a tree two minutes later, killing his brother riding in the passenger seat.

York Area Regional Police said 48-year-old Jamey Ray Hartless of Glen Rock sideswiped a car shortly after 6 p.m. Monday and sped away from the scene.

About two minutes later, officers were called to respond to a crash right down the road. Investigators said Hartless' 1988 Chevrolet Camaro went off the road and hit a tree and stop sign.

Hartless is hospitalized in stable condition. His brother, 51-year-old Timothy Hartless of Glen Rock, was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after the crash.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol are factors. They say Jamey Hartless will face charges in the incident.
