Man, Cousin “Laid in Wait” for Victim: Pros.

A prosecutor says a man on trial in a shooting death outside a southeastern Pennsylvania bar a year ago "laid in wait" along with his cousin for the victim.

The (Pottstown) Mercury reports that the comments came on the first day of the Montgomery County Court trial of 27-year-old Michael Hinton.

Hinton and 20-year-old Maurice Andrews Jr. are charged in the March 2013 slaying of 27-year-old Victor Baez outside Brian's Cafe in Pottstown.

Assistant District Attorney Lindsay O'Brien told jurors Tuesday that although authorities allege that Andrews fired the fatal shots, Hinton was also responsible.

Defense attorney Patrick McMenamin Jr. argued that Hinton had no intention of killing Baez and only went with Andrews to support his cousin.

Andrews faces a separate trial later this year.
