Man Charged with Raping Woman in New Castle

A New Castle man has been charged with beating and raping a woman whom he had paid to perform a sex act.

State police say 20-year-old James Daniels was arrested at his home on Friday.

The alleged rape occurred early Tuesday morning. Police say Daniels picked up the 25-year-old woman at a gas station and drove her to a secluded location where he paid her for a sex act.

When the woman ended the act, Daniels punched her several times, according to officials.
