Man Arrested For Robbing Elderly Woman

    Elderly Woman Hurt in Purse Snatching

    Police are on the hunt for a man caught on surveillance video robbing a 94-year-old woman. The video shows the man sneaking up behind the woman, grabbing her purse and pulling her to the ground before running off. The woman suffered a broken arm and multiple cuts and bruises in the robbery. Now police need your help in bringing the man to justice. NBC10's Tim Furlong has more.     Philadelphia police have made an arrest in the Easter Sunday robbery of a 94-year-old woman.

    Antonio Santiago, 29, of Bridesburg, was arrested Saturday and has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

    Surveillance cameras allegedly caught Santiago following the woman while she was walking home from a supermarket on Loretto Avenue April 8. The video showed a man grabbing the woman's pocketbook, throwing her to the ground in the process, before fleeing the scene.

    The woman suffered a broken arm and multiple cuts and bruises. Her current health status is not known.

    Police had offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest. It is unclear whether the reward will be claimed.
