Man Arrested After Police Chase, Barricade Situation: Cops

A man is in custody after a police chase and barricade in North Philadelphia.

A man is in custody after a police chase and barricade in North Philadelphia. It began shortly after 6 p.m. on the 2400 block of Norris Street.

Police, along with U.S. Marshals, say they witnessed a man fire shots at a silver vehicle. The officers ran after the suspect on foot while another officer pursued the suspect in his police cruiser, according to investigators.

During the pursuit, the police vehicle crashed at Jefferson and Dover streets. The officer driving the car suffered minor injuries. Police say the suspect managed to elude the other officers as well and ran into a home on the 2300 block of Norris Street leading to a barricade situation.

Finally police were able to apprehend the suspect and place him into custody at 7:09 p.m. Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity or the specific charges against him.
