An unidentified man was in guarded condition Saturday night after being shot by a Philadelphia Police officer in Olney.
Officers were called to Fifth and Tabor Streets around 6:45 p.m. to investigate reports of a person with a weapon, according to Philadelphia Police.
They encountered a man armed with two large knives and a meat cleaver. They ordered the man to drop the weapons but he refused and ran toward the officers, according to police.
One of the officers fired at the suspect, hitting him three times, say police. The suspect is expected to survive.
