Man Accused of Killing Mom for Crack Money Waives Hearing

A central Pennsylvania man accused of killing his mother for drug money is headed to trial on criminal homicide and related charges.

Fifty-four-year-old Paul Arthur Tolbert waived his preliminary hearing before a district judge Wednesday and allowed all counts against him to proceed to Cumberland County Court.

Authorities allege Paul Tolbert used three different knives to kill 85-year-old Mary Tolbert in her Carlisle home on Dec. 3 and took money from her purse to buy crack cocaine.

He is also charged with robbery and tampering with evidence for allegedly trying to clean up the crime scene.

A formal arraignment is scheduled for April 24.
