Luring Attempts Reported in Bucks County

Police are investigating two reports of strangers approaching children as they played outside in a Bucks County neighborhood.

The Newtown Township Police Department is investigating two incidents of attempted lurings.

The first happened on Township Line Road in March, according to police. Investigators say two girls, ages eight and 11, were playing when a man stopped his vehicle, got out of the car and yelled at the girls to come to him. The suspect then opened his passenger side door and called to them again, according to police. The girls ran into their house and their mother called 911.

On Saturday, a nine-year-old boy said he was playing on Jane Chapman Drive when a man driving a dark SUV stopped and asked him if he wanted some candy, said investigators. The boy ran into his home and his parents called police.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Newtown Township Police Department.
