Lost Ring Shows Up on Sandy-Churned Shore

A New Jersey man can probably thank Superstorm Sandy and all the sand it moved around for the return of a high school memento.

Bryan Heller lost his Rumson-Fair Haven class ring while swimming in the ocean off Sea Bright a little more than 10 years ago.

He recently got it back.

David Williams of Keyport was rebuilding the foundation of a Sea Bright home in August when he came across the ring on the ground.

It had Heller's name on it and other telltale information, enabling Williams to track down its rightful owner.

The 28-year-old Heller, of West Long Branch, tells the Asbury Park Press having the ring back is "awesome."

But he says he probably won't wear it much.

It's been replaced by a wedding band.
