Police are on the hunt for a local “Grinch” who they say targeted a Delaware family.

It happened Sunday, around 10:30 pm., at a home on the 300 block of West Division Street in Dover, according to investigators. Police say the suspect entered through a window and stole clothes, a children’s DVD movie, remote controlled car and an Atari game system. A friend of the family told police he spotted the suspect on the porch and yelled at him, prompting him to flee on foot. The family awoke and discovered the theft.

Police searched the area but were unable to find anyone. Investigators say the suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket with the word “ECHO” written on it in white, not to be confused with the “ECKO” clothing brand. Police also say the suspect was wearing a white knit cap, white gloves and black pants.
